Prisoner's Paranormal Petition

In June 1908 prisoners at the Schuylkill County Prison began a petition to be moved. Not moved from the prison mind you, moved to a different cell block. The reason? Prisoners claimed, during the dead of night, they heard the sound of a trap door being sprung outside in the courtyard. Rising from their bunks and peering into the outside darkness, some prisoners even claimed to see an unattached noose with a shadowy body swaying in the summer breeze. Although there were executions performed several months before these otherworldly experiences, the gallows had been disassembled and stored away long before the ghostly experiences. Were the prisoners peering into an otherworldly past event or witnessing a harbinger of impending death courtesy of the county hangman 💀
